This week is the final week of July Black Hero WOD’s. We honor Sergeant First Class Alwyn Cashe who on October 17, 2005, gave his life rescuing his fellow soldiers from a burning Bradley Fighting Vehicle after an IED explosion, he saved 6 men while under attack. Cashe would pass away 3-weeks later from severe burns he suffered during the rescue. Although he was posthumously awarded the Silver Star, his actions are deserved of the Medal of Honor.
